The APGO Women's Health Education Office is proud to collaborate on the Competency project with the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP). Both APGO and ARHP share the common goal of integrating women's health education into the medical school curriculum. The Reproductive Health Model Curriculum, 2nd Edition, is a comprehensive, 7-module resource designed to help fill education and training gaps in reproductive health medical education. The Reproductive Health Model Curriculum emphasizes building provider-patient communication and cultural competence skills, with special attention paid to the psychosocial, psychological, and demographic factors related to reproductive health care. WHEO also highlights these issues throughout the Competencies, focusing specifically on the unique characteristics of sex and gender and how they affect health and disease. WHEO references a number of the Reproductive Health Model Curriculum Modules as tools for achieving specific learning objectives within the Women's Health Care Competencies. ARHP references the WHEO Competencies throughout the Reproductive Health Model Curriculum. Both WHEO and ARHP recognize the need to work together not only to underscore how well these educational resources complement one another, but to draw strength in numbers to address the need for women's health to have a larger home in the medical school curriculum.
